Chickasha, OK | February 14, 2026 — The Nelson University Lady Lions took their 20-win momentum on the road Saturday afternoon, squaring off with the University of Science and Arts inside Drover Fieldhouse in a pivotal Sooner Athletic Conference matchup. After four hard-fought quarters, the Drovers used a strong final frame to pull away, handing Nelson a 75–60 defeat.
Nelson came out aggressive, knocking down early perimeter shots and attacking the glass. The Lady Lions shot 44.4% from three in the opening quarter and kept pace offensively, trailing just 23–19 after one. Ashley Gonzalez provided an early spark with confident perimeter shooting, finishing with 11 points on three made threes. Despite solid defensive stretches, Science and Arts edged ahead 36–31 at halftime, capitalizing on second-chance opportunities and interior touches.
The third quarter proved pivotal. Nelson shot just 11.8% from the field during the frame, allowing the Drovers to extend the lead. Science and Arts controlled the paint (34 points inside compared to Nelson's 20) and won the rebounding battle 48–37, turning offensive boards into timely buckets.
Bailee Dorris led the Lady Lions offensively with 14 points off the bench, attacking downhill and converting at the free-throw line (6-of-8). Kate Miller added 10 points and six rebounds, while Abby Boyce and Paris Miller combined for 16 rebounds in a gritty effort on the glass.
Science and Arts put together their best shooting quarter in the fourth, connecting at 53.8% from the floor. Nelson continued to compete, scoring 17 in the final period, but the Drovers' efficiency and rebounding edge proved decisive in the 75–60 final.
