Denton, TX - The Nelson University Lady Lions women's soccer team faced a tough challenge Thursday night, taking on NCAA Division I opponent University of North Texas at Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium.
The Lady Lions battled throughout the match against the Mean Green, with goalkeeper Delaney Murphy recording six saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal for Nelson.
North Texas took an early lead with a goal in the fifth minute before adding another goal late in the first half to take a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
The Mean Green added eight goals in the second half to secure the 10-0 victory.
Nelson recorded two shots in the contest, with Ruth Mollel and Lizeth Moreno each registering an attempt for the Lady Lions.
With the loss, the Lady Lion's move to 2-3 on the year.
