Bethany, OK– The Lady Lions closed out their two-game Oklahoma road trip in dominant fashion, sweeping Sooner Athletic Conference foe Southwestern Christian University, 3-0.
Nelson wasted no time setting the tone, cruising to a 25-8 victory in the opening set before closing out the match with back-to-back 25-11 victories in the final two sets.
The Lady Lions controlled the match from start to finish, never allowing the Eagles to gain any momentum. Nelson put together an offensive clinic, dominating the Eagles in every category. But one statistic that sticks out the most is a staggering 45 kills compared to Southwestern Christian's 17.
Eleven of those kills came from sophomore
Addison Standley, as she continues her impressive 2026 campaign. Right behind Standley in the kill column was freshman
Keara Savory-Calbo, who added nine kills of her own, while junior
Caroline Boone followed closely behind with eight.
Senior setter
Cassidy Hargesheimer continued to deliver time and time again, leading the Lady Lions in the assist category once again with 21 assists. Throughout the season, Hargesheimer has led the team in the assist category in every single game to this point, continuing to play a vital role in the Lady Lions' offense.
From the service line Nelson found plenty of success as well, recording eight aces on the afternoon, with junior
Makenzi Petten leading the way with three.
Defensively, the Lady Lions kept the Eagles in check, collecting 52 digs throughout the match. Senior
Chloe Munoz led the defensive effort with 16 digs, while senior
Hailey Nixon added nine.
At the net, Standley continued her dominant performance leading with four blocks, while
Savannah Bergman and Savory-Calbo followed closely behind with three blocks apiece.
The sweep keeps the Lady Lions undefeated in conference play while extending their winning streak to nine consecutive matches. With the victory, Nelson remains comfortably atop the Sooner Athletic Conference standings.
