Waxahachie, TX. – SAGU volleyball extended their win streak Tuesday night against Southwestern Christian. This win marks the fourth straight sweep for the Lions, extending their sets won streak to twelve.
The Lions (5-1, 2-0) never kept it close winning by a margin of 14 or more points in each of their three sets and outscoring Southwestern Christian 48 to 20. SAGU led Southwestern Christian in every major statistical category including points, kills, aces, blocks, assists, and digs.
The Lions defense had another stellar night holding Southwestern Christian to a -.047 hitting percentage while accumulating 51 digs. The Lions offense followed suit with 40 kills and 39 assists.
SAGU volleyball currently sits in the top spot of the Sooner Athletic Conference after going 2-0 with two straight sweeps against Oklahoma City University and Southwestern Christian.
Highlights:
- Ava Myers led the SAGU offense with 12 kills and Emma Tomkins followed with 8
- Riley Burcham had 35 assists on the night
- Tessa Glick led the SAGU defense with 14 digs
