Plainview, TX: The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions headed to Hillard Field in Plainview, Texas, to take on Wayland Baptist University (WBU), a nemesis in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC). With the next three of its last four games at home, Wayland Baptist University entered the game to play its longest homestand of the regular season. Still, the Lady Lions would be trying to sully their homecoming.Â

Lions Review
-
At kickoff, the Lady Lions were expected to provide problems for WBU, with Zoe Boldt starting in goal.
-
Beatriz Rodrigues would not wait for much of the game's remaining time to pass before positioning herself for an immediate attempt on goal, heating the WBU defense.
-
SAGU substitutes Alejandra Ruiz, and Jordan Shelton joined the match and immediately injected energy.
-
The Lady Lions' first-half performance included many cutting edges, fluid passing, and loud communication.
-
The score would be knotted at 0 at halftime.
-
Kyra Smith split a WBU defender into pieces, but her goal attempt missed the target slightly wide.
-
After a throw-in, WBU gathered the loose ball, and Moureira shot from just beyond the box, hitting the ball into the top right corner.
-
Beatriz Rodrigues' strikes and Lydia Johnson's header both required the WBU goalkeeper to make incredible saves to prevent them from entering the goal area.
-
In the last seconds of the match, Valeria Olivas Maldonado would send her teammates a corner kick, and they would all give it their best in an effort to tie the game. Ultimately, WBU would clinch the win. Â
Paul's Pondering
"When we earn our goal-scoring opportunities, we need to put the ball in the back of the net; if not, we give the other team hope. It's been the same script the last dozen games," SAGU women's soccer head coach Paul Hason commented.
