Dudik unstoppable in victory over Lyon College

October 22, 2022

Batesville, AR: The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football squad traveled to Batesville, Arkansas, to match up against Lyon College for a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) slugfest. The quarterback for the football team representing Lyon College is senior Isaiah Bradford. In the 2021 campaign, Bradford participated in nine games and completed 1,068 passes with a passer rating of 91.15. Furthermore, Bradford ran 58 times for 101 yards, averaging 11.2 yards per carry.

Although the 2021 NAIA rushing champion's 2022 campaign has arguably started slowly compared to his prior production, the SAGU standout Keaton Dudik was absolutely cruising during the game.

Keaton Dudik led SAGU to a 31-6 victory over Lyon College by accelerating quickly and forcefully on every carry.

Lion Review

  • When the game initially commenced, Kepatrick Magee and Jaylan Moss were in prime form, playing greedy defense and tackling Lyon Scot receivers before they could gain ground.

  • After shedding many blocks, Zach Nelson would engulf a Lyon running back for a loss.

  • When Keaton Dudik first touched the ball, he ran for 36 yards, indicating the kind of game he would have.

  • When SAGU combined an air assault to counterbalance the run game, Khalil Jenkins would slide to grab a Briley Green ball.

  • The game's first points came via Keaton Dudik's dance into the end zone, and with a Kieran Woodley field goal attempt successful, the Lions would lead 7-0.

  • Noah Gipson had a successful training session throughout the week that resulted in him shedding opponents to make a tackle for a loss.

  • Keaton Dudik broke loose for 48 yards to start the Lions' ensuing drive, which was completed by a touchdown throw of 18 yards between Dudik and Briley Green.

  • Justen Campbell would slant and collect a short dime from Briley Green to move the chains. Additionally, Justin Beaudion would inherit the SAGU quick passing approach.

  • K. Kargozar's kick attempt was unsuccessful because Isaac Gowdy blocked and returned it. Gowdy secured the SAGU possession by smacking the ball and tucking it like a newborn baby.

  • The most significant ground gain for both sides throughout the contest came from Keaton Dudik's 77-yard gallop in the second half.

  • Keaton Dudik would ultimately sprint for over 300 yards and two touchdowns on 33 attempts, leading SAGU to victory.

Ellis' Edition

"Our team played hard, and our coaches did an amazing job today. I am proud of them. It was great to look up in the bleachers and see SAGU supporters." SAGU football head coach Greg Ellis said.
