The SAGU did not manage to develop enough defensive impetus to topple SU.

• SU used an unconventional soccer formation to maintain the game's momentum for the opening 10 to 12 minutes of the first half.

• Ethan Stewart scored a goal that splashed the back of the net after receiving a dazzling feed from Ryan Sandron.

• In the end, SU defeated the SAGU Lions by one goal.

Oancea's Opinion

"I thought we did an okay job neutralizing their options on a very untypical soccer formation. They capitalized on our own individual mistakes. We were able to create quite some great opportunities but not enough production at the end of the play," SAGU head men's soccer coach Clementin Oancea said.

The Lions will return home to face University of Houston-Victoria Saturday, September 10th.
