Lion Review
-
In the first period, Taylor Moravcik was flaming hot from three-point range, banking her first three-point attempt, masterfully kissing the ball off of the glass.
-
Taylor Moravcik was also superb on the offensive glass as she clawed shots off the rim and hop-stepped in the lane for layup put-backs.Â
-
In her west Texas homecoming Mary Jo Parker knocked down her first long ball attempt in front of the Flying Queen's bench.Â
-
At the end of the first period, the Lady Lions trailed the Flying Queens 14-11.Â
-
Rylee Lavender and Neeley Tilley-Bedick turned up their level of play in the second period. The Lady Lion's top-scoring guards began to elevate the play of their teammates by making sly passes.Â
-
The score was 33-28 in favor of the Flying Queens at the halftime intermission. Due to a red-hot WBU scoring start in the second half, the Flying Queens could stretch their advantage until Neeley Tilley-Bedick, and Rylee Lavender ended the Lady Lions scoring drought with consecutive mid-range step-back jumpers.Â
-
Chanie Chambers, in her west Texas homecoming, splashed five three-pointers in consecutive possessions. Chamber was a spark plug off the bench that cut the large deficit to 52-44 after three periods of play. Â
-
In the end, SAGU lost to WBU 72-60. The top scorers for the Lady Lions were Chanie Chambers, with 15, and Taylor Moravcik, who finished with 10 points and 19 rebounds.Â
