McPherson, KS - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions soccer team embarked on a crucial Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) showdown against the Central Christian College (CCC) Tigers in McPherson, Kansas. Despite showcasing their finest skills and tremendous effort, the Lions found themselves falling short to the Tigers with a final score of 3-0.
Lions Review
Right from the opening moments of the game, John Garcia and Sergio Valerga injected energy and determination into the Lions' performance.
Throughout the match, Jose Rodriguez, Ethan Stewart, and John Garcia displayed unwavering determination to match the Tigers' first-half goal, making every effort to turn the tide in their favor.
At the halftime break, the Lions trailed the Tigers with a score of 1-0, keeping the game within reach.
In the second half, Wenceslau Coimbra, Jonahan Lopez, and Jafet Ramirez led swift attacks towards the CCC goal, but the Lions struggled to break through the resolute defense.
Javaughn Hines played an exceptional defensive role for SAGU, but despite the efforts, the Tigers managed to extend their lead with two additional goals, ultimately securing the victory.
David Calvete Beltran stood strong in goal for the Lions, making three crucial saves to keep the match competitive.

The Lions are now gearing up for their next challenge, scheduled for October 24th (Tuesday) at 7:00 PM when they face off against Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
