November 20, 2023

Waxahachie, TX - In a dazzling display of dominance, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions women's basketball team left an indelible mark on the court as they secured a resounding 107-32 victory over Ecclesia College at the Sheaffer Center in Waxahachie, Texas.

Lion Review
From the opening tip-off, it was evident that the Lady Lions were on a mission, establishing an imposing 31-3 lead by the end of the first period.

The driving force behind this commanding performance was none other than Rylee Lavender, who spearheaded the offensive onslaught with an impressive 22 points. Lavender's scoring prowess was complemented by a stellar team effort that showcased the Lady Lions' depth and versatility on the court.

As the halftime buzzer sounded, the scoreboard illuminated a lopsided 50-13 score in favor of the Lady Lions. Key players like Kyla McMinn, Neeley Tilley-Bedick, and Agar Farres Garcia played pivotal roles in extending the team's lead, demonstrating a well-rounded and cohesive approach to the game.

The second half unfolded as a testament to the Lady Lions' relentless teamwork and tenacious defense. Exploiting Ecclesia College's mistakes, the Lady Lions converted turnovers into fastbreak opportunities, further solidifying their dominance. The statistical sheet bore witness to the team's superiority in points, rebounds, and shooting percentage.

Rylee Lavender's 22-point performance stood out, but it was far from a one-player show. Kyla McMinn contributed significantly with 15 points, and the collective efforts of players like Chanie Chambers, Cailyn Tucker, and others underscored the team's depth and balance.
