Waxahachie, TX – On Sunday evening at Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie, Texas, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team faced the Central Christian College (CCC) Tigers in a doubleheader to conclude their first Sooner Athletics Conference (SAC) series of the 2023 season.

Game 1:
The Lady Lions failed to score in the day's first game, recording their second scoreless game of the season. SAGU's six hits in the game were not converted into scoring chances.
Trista Ford threw three innings and had three strikeouts while giving up no runs. Annie Charanza added one more strikeout. Brooke Kinnibrugh led the Lady Lion's offense with two hits. Sasha Jennings, Candence Hopgood, Trista Ford, and Abigail Muniz all had one hit.

Game 2:
In the series' final game, the Lady Lion's offense turned up the intensity, nearly doubling the number of hits they had in game one. Sasha Jennings was the Lady Lion's top batter with three hits, two runs, and two RBIs in her four at-bat attempts.
Airiana Magdaleno, in her four at-bat attempts, had two hits, two runs, and one RBI.
Trista Ford and McKenzie Schulze each had two RBIs. Ford's left-field double in the third inning sent the Lady Lion home fans into a frenzy.Â
