Waxahachie, TX – On Saturday afternoon in Waxahachie, Texas, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team closed their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series against the Langston University (LU) Lady Lions.
Lions Review
The Langston team failed to sabotage SAGU's celebration of Senior Day when the Lady Lions won both games of the series finale doubleheader. Before the games, SAGU senior Airiana Magdaleno was the only senior acknowledged for the Lady Lions, and she left her imprint on the competition.
In game one the Lady Lions won 4-0. Trista Ford of SAGU, who pitched seven innings, struck out eight hitters to record the shutout.
RBIs were recorded by Sasha Jennings, Makinsey Exley, and Makinzy Kneip. The game's most significant play was made by Sasha Jennings, who doubled to the left of the field to score Abigail Howell.
The Lady Lions defeated Langston 18-8 in game two, setting a new season record in points scored. SAGU had a hot hitting streak, finishing the game with a total of 19 hits.
In her four at-bats, Airiana Magdaleno collected two hits and scored two runs.
Brooke Kinnibrugh (4), Sasha Jennings (3), Trista Ford, Candence Hopgood (3), Madyson Wiggins (2), Makinsey Exley (2), Arcelie Mares, Lashay Reyes, and Hannah Kleinpeter (2) all contributed RBIs.

On Friday, April 21st Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) will face the Mid-America Christian University (MACU) Evangels in a doubleheader to open their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series.
