Oklahoma City, OK– On Friday afternoon at the Allen Field in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team opened their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series against the Mid-America Christian University (MACU) Evangels.Â

Lions ReviewÂ
The Lions lost to the Evangels 4-2 in game one of the doubleheader. The SAGU Lady Lions failed to score a run despite getting twice as many hits as MACU did during the game.Â
The Lady Lions' Sasha Jennings managed to steal a base, but that was the only significant offensive play for the SAGU squad on the trip.
The Lady Lions' hitting display in game two was dynamic and well-balanced. Eight different SAGU players contributed hits to the evenly distributed onslaught. Three players were successful in turning their hits into RBIs: Trista Ford, Candence Hopgood (3), and Madyson Wiggins. The Lady Lion's most outstanding hitter, Candence Hopgood, had three hits in her three at-bats.Â
A big hit by Airiana Magdaleno also allowed her to run all the way to third base.

Watty's Word
"Not a bad start, there is still work to be done to finish this crucial conference weekend doubleheader tomorrow," head SAGU softball coach Watty Watson said.
