Goodwell, OK – On Thursday afternoon at the Jim Quimby Field - "The Q" in Goodwell, Oklahoma, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team faced the Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) Aggies in a doubleheader to open their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series.

Game 1:
The Lady Aggies defeated the Lady Lions 9-8 in the opening game.
The Lady Lions' McKenzie Schulze got the game going by hitting a home run in her very first at-bat.
In her four at-bats, Candence Hopgood had three hits, including a single that scored a run for SAGU. Madyson Wiggins' grand slam in the top of the third inning that expanded the Lady Lions' advantage to three, was a game-changing play.
The Lady Lions had solid hitting despite losing the game in extra innings.

In the second game, the Lady Aggies defeated the Lady Lions 11-7.
The Lady Lions received additional hits from Sasha Jennings, Trista Ford, McKenzie Schulze, Candence Hopgood, Arcelie Mares, Abigail Muniz, and Makinsey Exley. In the day's second game, SAGU was able to produce yet another strong batting effort.
