Goodwell, OK – On Friday afternoon at the Jim Quimby Field - "The Q" in Goodwell, Oklahoma, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team faced the Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) Aggies in a doubleheader to close their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series.

Game 1:
The Lady Aggies defeated the Lady Lions 12-3 in the day's opening game.Â
For the SAGU Lady Lions, hits were contributed by Candence Hopgood, Camille Bradley, Trista Ford, and Airiana Magdaleno during their at-bats.
The Lady Lions' most outstanding RBI came via Trista Ford's game-opening home run in the top of the first inning. The outstanding hit by the starting pitcher energized her teammates. The Lady Lions' Candence Hopgood and Madyson Wiggins both had RBIs.

Game 2:
In game two, the series closer the Lady Lions scored at a furious rate but still fell to the Lady Aggies 13-10 as OPSU completed the series sweep.
Makinsey Exley, Brooke Kinnibrugh, Madyson Wiggins, Candence Hopgood and Trista Ford all had two hits each for SAGU. Trista Ford was a standout for the Lady Lions offensively adding four RBIs.

"In the last leg of this doubleheader, our ladies showed great resilience. Despite not receiving the outcomes we want, we will undoubtedly learn from this series and apply what we discovered to help us succeed in the conference play going forward," head SAGU softball coach Watty Watson said.
