Lions Review
The opening half of the game was an intense, gritty battle, with both teams striving to kick off their conference campaigns on the right foot. The scoreboard remained untouched during the first 45 minutes, though a couple of yellow cards were brandished to players from both sides, exemplifying the fierce competition on the field. However, it was the Lady Lions who seized control of the game after making vital halftime adjustments.
The turning point arrived in the 46th minute, as Stephanie Hernandez capitalized on a beautifully executed pass from Anna Bewley and sent the ball soaring into the net, breaking the deadlock. The freshmen duo of Hernandez and Bewley displayed a magical connection.
Bewley wasn't done making her mark on the game. Shortly thereafter, she showcased her individual brilliance with a solo goal, further extending the Lady Lions' lead. Demonstrating her versatility, Bewley continued to shine by providing a second assist, setting up Breanna Suhr for yet another Lady Lions goal.
Though the Lady Lions conceded a goal in the 82nd minute, they maintained their composure and ultimately emerged victorious with a final score of 3-1, marking an impressive start to their SAC campaign.
