SAGU Lady Lions Triumph in Thrilling Showdown Against MACU

Oklahoma City, OK - In a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) clash that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions emerged victorious against the Mid-America Christian University (MACU) Evangels on Thursday evening in Oklahoma City.

Lady Lions Review 
The game kicked off with Agar Farres Garcia, the SAC's leading rebounder, dominating the tip-off and setting the tone with formidable paint protection. Rylee Lavender's energetic entrance off the bench brought a touch of joy, contributing early buckets.

A standout moment in the second quarter saw scoring contributions from eight Lady Lions players, showcasing the team's depth. Notable highlights included Cailyn Tucker and Wendy Clemons' long three-pointers, Rylee Lavender's shifty crossovers, and Kyla McMinn's powerful post spins.

Heading into halftime with a slim lead of 39-37, SAGU displayed remarkable teamwork, recording 11 assists to MACU's seven. The third quarter witnessed Neeley Tilley-Bedick's sharpshooting prowess, culminating in a buzzer-beater three and a 66-57 lead.

The Lady Lions continued their stellar performance in the fourth quarter, securing an 86-73 victory through impressive scoring and tenacious defense. Key contributors included Neeley Tilley-Bedick and Agar Farres Garcia, both finishing with 18 points and a combined 11 assists. Farres Garcia's double-double feat with 14 rebounds stood out, while Chanie Chambers blocked two shots.

Rylee Lavender and Kyla McMinn added 13 points each, contributing to the Lady Lions' 13 out of 25 successful three-point attempts. Despite shooting 19 fewer free throws, SAGU's defense held MACU to 32% from the field and 16% from beyond the arc.

Looking ahead, the Lady Lions are set to return to the Sheaffer Center in Waxahachie, TX, where they will face Southwestern Christian University in another conference battle.
