Lady Lion Review
From the opening tip-off, the game showcased a physicality that reverberated through the Sheaffer Center. Neeley Tilley-Beddick set the tone early, announcing the Lady Lions' defensive readiness with a steal and an electrifying coast-to-coast score. Throughout the game, Tilley-Beddick displayed impeccable discipline and confidence, complemented by Kyla McMinn's imposing interior presence that ignited a passionate Lady Lion scoring run.
The first period belonged to the Lady Lions, with Tilley-Beddick's sharpshooting and Agar Farres Garcia's tenacious rebounding paving the way to an 18-10 lead.
The second period featured dynamic plays, including Chanie Chambers' high-arcing three-pointer, Autumn Moore's gritty offensive rebound put-back, and Wendy Clemmons' artful fake pass leading to a silky jumper. However, at halftime, the Drovers managed a narrow 29-27 lead.
As the third period unfolded, the game turned into a back-and-forth spectacle, marked by multiple lead changes. Cailyn Tucker's valuable contributions off the bench kept the Lady Lions in the fight, and as the third quarter concluded, the score was deadlocked at 45.
Despite the Lady Lions' resilient efforts, late-game heroics from the Drovers sealed their fate, resulting in a heart-wrenching 69-64 loss.
