Oklahoma City – Following one of the most exciting final nights of the regular season in recent memory, Mid-America Christian claimed their fourth consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming 2024 SAC Men's Soccer Tournament.
John Brown University will enter the postseason conference tournament as the No. 2 seed while Oklahoma City will be the No. 3 seed with Texas Wesleyan joining the championship field as the No. 4 seed.
All first-round contests of the tournament will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, with all the matches starting at 7 p.m.
The Evangels will look to claim their fifth straight tournament championship as they will face off against No. 8 seed Nelson University at Dill Soccer Field in Oklahoma City. Mid-America Christian finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-1-4 and a league mark of 7-0-2. The Lions enter the tournament with an overall mark of 6-5-7 and a conference record of 1-5-3. The Evangels defeated Nelson by a score of 4-0 in their regular season match on Oct. 26, 2024.
The Golden Eagles will take on No. 7 seed Science & Arts at Alumni Field in Siloam Springs, Ark., to open their postseason action. John Brown wrapped up the regular season with an overall record of 10-1-5 and a league mark of 7-1-1. The Drovers finished the regular season with an overall record of 6-7-4 while wrapping up league play with a 3-4-2 mark. The Golden Eagles won their regular season contest over the Drovers by a score of 3-1 on Oct. 5, 2024.
Oklahoma City will play host to No. 6 seed Southwestern Christian at Brian Harvey Field in Oklahoma City. The Stars join the field with an overall mark of 11-1-3 while finishing conference action with a record of 6-1-2. The Eagles finished the season with an overall record of 6-5-4 and a conference mark of 2-2-5. The Stars defeated Southwestern Christian by a score of 2-1 on Sept. 28, 2024.
The Rams will take on No. 5 seed Wayland Baptist at Martin Field in Fort Worth, Texas to round out the first round. Texas Wesleyan finished the 2024 campaign with an overall record of 10-6-2 and a conference record of 4-3-2. The Pioneers completed the season with an overall record of 8-6-3 and a league mark of 3-3-3. The Rams won the regular season meeting between the squads by a score of 3-1 on Oct. 26, 2024.
The conference semifinals will take place on Saturday, November 9, at the home of the highest remaining seed, with the championship game being contested on Tuesday, November 12.
