Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lions men's soccer team returned to the Lions Athletic Complex on Monday afternoon to square off with LSU Alexandria in a clash that had everything… heat, rain, and drama.

The match kicked off after a weather delay caused by high Texas heat, but midway through the second half, a sudden rainstorm swept across the pitch. As the sun broke through again, fans in the stands found themselves sitting under a rainbow, an unforgettable backdrop to a tense battle on the field.

The Lions opened with promise, carving chances and pressing LSUA's backline. Their persistence paid off in the 32nd minute when Omolemo Matla found the back of the net, giving Nelson a 1–0 advantage.

After halftime, the Generals regrouped. Nelson's defense bent but didn't break until the 70th minute, when Sara Escribano equalized for LSUA. The Generals kept pressing, and heartbreak struck in the final minute when Linnea Lundstroem, assisted by Sacha Backus, delivered the game-winning goal at 89:41.
