Lions Review
In a game where experience met enthusiasm, newest member of the SAGU 1000 point club, Noah Boling, showcased his talent with a phenomenal first-half performance. Leading all scorers at halftime with 11 points, Boling's five years as a varsity starter proved pivotal in the Lions' quest for victory.
At halftime, SAGU held a 35-28 lead, with JJ Boling and Cortland Blake contributing eight points each, all coming from dominating plays in the paint. JJ Boling's thunderous dunk just before the break set the stage for an electrifying second half.
The excitement soared in the latter half, as Cortland Blake's interior scoring and Kylon Owens' exceptional defensive efforts disrupted LU's offensive flow. Despite Langston's stingy defense regaining momentum, the SAGU guard duo, Justin Collins and Trace Boling, ignited a scoring run that had fans roaring.
Key plays, including Noah Jonker's crucial and-one layup and JJ Boling's emphatic put-back slam, forced LU into a timeout. CJ Hall's clutch shooting added the final touches to the monumental upset as SAGU secured a 72-58 victory over the No. 2 ranked opponents.
