Waxahachie, TXÂ - In an electrifying Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) clash, the Sheaffer Center in Waxahachie, Texas, witnessed a thrilling matchup as the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions hosted the Wayland Baptist University (WBU) Flying Queens. Amidst a senior day celebration honoring the remarkable career of Rylee Lavender, the home crowd roared with excitement, setting the stage for a memorable showdown.

The game began with a bang as senior guard Rylee Lavender showcased her offensive prowess with a stunning one-dribble pull-up jumper, followed by a long-range three-pointer. Lavender, the No. 12 All-Time Scoring Leader in SAGU history, demonstrated her ability to shine on the big stage once again. Adding to her impressive display, Lavender contributed an additional layup after a steal and assist from Neeley Tilley-Bedick, as well as another bucket off a Wendy Clemmons assist, tallying 11 points and an assist in the opening period, propelling SAGU to a 16-8 lead.
As the game progressed, the Lady Lions intensified their defensive pressure, anchored by the relentless hustle of point guard Wendy Clemmons. Heading into halftime with a commanding 31-18 lead, SAGU showcased their defensive prowess and offensive efficiency.
