Bethany, OK - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team faced a tough challenge as they clashed with the Southwestern Christian University (SCU) Eagles in a doubleheader at Bethany, Oklahoma, marking the conclusion of their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series.

Lady Lions Review
Game 1
In the opening bout, the Lady Lions faced a setback, falling short with a score of 7-1. Trista Ford showcased resilience, going 1 for 3 at the plate and notching a run. Brooke Kinnibrugh and Makinzy Kneip also contributed, each securing a hit in their three attempts. On the mound, Valerie Guzman displayed determination, lasting 4.2 innings and striking out four while allowing four earned runs on seven hits. Macie Blizzard provided relief, pitching 1.1 innings and conceding two earned runs on three hits.

Game 2
The second match saw the Lady Lions struggle again, ultimately succumbing with a score of 8-2. Sasha Jennings displayed her prowess, going 1 for 3 and driving in an RBI. McKenzie Schulze and Myranda Lewis also contributed, each securing a hit. Natalie Zamora took the mound, lasting 5.1 innings and allowing five earned runs on 13 hits, leading to the loss. Valerie Guzman entered the game in the final inning, securing two strikeouts.

Looking Ahead
Despite the setbacks, the Lady Lions remain determined as they look ahead to their upcoming clash against cross-town rivals, Texas Wesleyan University. Scheduled for March 22nd at 12:00 PM, the doubleheader will take place at the Lions Athletic Complex in Waxahachie, Texas.
