Lady Lions Finish Conference Play with Tough Battles Against Oklahoma City

Waxahachie, TX - In the final conference showdown of the season at the Lions Athletic Complex in Waxahachie, Texas, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team faced off against a formidable opponent, Oklahoma City University (OCU), in a doubleheader that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

 

Game 1
Despite a valiant effort, the Lady Lions fell short in the first game, losing 4-1 to OCU. Sasha Jennings showcased her skills, going 1 for 4 and scoring a crucial run. Trista Ford delivered a standout performance, going 1 for 4 with an impressive triple. McKenzie Schulze contributed to the scoreboard, going 1 for 4 with a pivotal RBI. In the circle, Annie Charanza battled through 7 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 10 hits, ultimately taking the loss.

 

Game 2
In a resilient display of determination, the Lady Lions fought hard in the second game, but OCU emerged victorious with a score of 9-1. Trista Ford continued to shine, going 2 for 3 with another RBI to her name. Myranda Lewis showcased her skills, going 1 for 1 and crossing the plate for a run. Sasha Jennings contributed with a 1 for 3 performance. Despite the efforts, Valerie Guzman endured a tough outing, pitching 3.2 innings and allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits, shouldering the loss. Samantha Wegman and Aracelie Mares also saw action on the mound, each facing the challenge head-on.

As the dust settles on the conference battles, the Lady Lions turn their focus towards the offseason, where they will prepare for future challenges.
