Schulze Shines As SAGU Lady Lions Sweep Langston in Doubleheader

Waxahachie, TX - The Lions Athletic Complex in Waxahachie, Texas witnessed an electrifying showdown as the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions squared off against Langston University (LU) Lions in a doubleheader to ignite their Sooner Athletic Conference campaign. The Lady Lions dominated both games, securing impressive victories to kick start their series play on a high note.

 

Game 1
In a commanding performance, the Lady Lions showcased their offensive prowess and defensive prowess, clinching a resounding 7-1 triumph over Langston in the series opener. Trista Ford led the charge both on the mound and at the plate, pitching a complete game gem while also contributing offensively with a run scored. McKenzie Schulze delivered a stellar performance, going 2 for 4 with a crucial double, scoring a run, and notching three RBIs. Brooke Kinnibrugh and Hailey Ledbetter also made significant contributions, each tallying an RBI to propel the Lady Lions to victory.

 

Game 2
The momentum carried into the second game as the Lady Lions continued their dominance with a commanding 4-0 shutout against Langston. Sasha Jennings ignited the offense, scoring three runs, while Trista Ford and Cadence Hopgood delivered clutch hits, combining for three RBIs. McKenzie Schulze's double added to the offensive onslaught, with contributions from Brooke Kinnibrugh, Makinzy Kneip, Kaeli Lynn, and Myranda Lewis at the plate. On the mound, Macie Blizzard delivered a masterful performance, tossing a complete game shutout, limiting Langston to just three hits while tallying three strikeouts.

 

Looking Ahead
With two impressive victories under their belt, the Lady Lions are poised to continue their winning ways as they prepare to conclude the series against Langston on April 6 (Sat) with another doubleheader set to commence at 12 PM and 2 PM in Waxahachie, TX.
