Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lady Lions Volleyball team ended day one of the Texas Two Step Tournament with a thrilling and fiercely contested match against the No. 13 nationally ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Friday evening at the Sheaffer Center. Despite their best efforts and moments of brilliance, the Lady Lions ultimately fell in four sets.

Set 1
The Lady Lions came out determined, pushing Oklahoma Wesleyan right from the start. With Bailee Alexander and Caroline Boone leading the offensive charge and Cassidy Hargensheimer orchestrating the attack, Nelson University took control early. The Lady Lions' intensity paid off as they secured a 25-21 win in the first set, stunning the Eagles and setting the tone for a competitive match.

Set 2
The Eagles, unfazed by the first set loss, came back with renewed focus in the second set. Nelson University fought valiantly, with Tessa Glick anchoring the defense with her impressive digs. However, Oklahoma Wesleyan managed to pull ahead in the critical moments, edging out the Lady Lions 25-20 to level the match at one set apiece.

Set 3
The third set was a true test of resilience for both teams. Nelson University and Oklahoma Wesleyan traded points in a high-energy back-and-forth that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Despite their relentless effort, the Lady Lions fell just short, with Oklahoma Wesleyan taking the set 25-22 in a nail-biter that could have gone either way.
Set 4
With the match on the line, the Lady Lions fought to extend it to a decisive fifth set. However, Oklahoma Wesleyan's depth proved too much to overcome. The Eagles built an early lead and maintained it, eventually winning the set 25-13 and securing the match 3-1.
