Langston, OK – The Nelson University Lady Lions kept their momentum rolling on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Langston, Oklahoma, for a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) showdown. The Lady Lions showed why they remain unbeaten in conference play, cruising to a straight-sets victory over Langston University (25-18, 25-9, 25-7).
Lady Lions Review
The Lady Lions' (13-4, 8-0 SAC) performance was nothing short of commanding as they hit .295 as a team, holding Langston to an astonishing -.136 hitting percentage. The defense smothered the Langston attack, limiting them to just 10 kills on the afternoon.
Lilly Hanna led the offensive charge for Nelson, tallying 10 kills with a blistering .692 hitting percentage. Mackenzie Smith also added 10 kills, while Bailee Alexander contributed 7 to the Lions' 41 total kills. The Lady Lions' service game was on fire, recording 13 aces, with Lindi Boling and Tessa Glick each contributing 5 and 3 aces, respectively.
Nelson's defensive presence was felt at the net with 8 blocks, led by Hanna with 5 and Smith with 4. The Lions' all-around performance left no room for Langston to build any momentum, as the Lady Lions dominated from start to finish.
Coach's Corner
"We had a great weekend. 13-4 (8-0 SAC) — this team is getting better and better," said Head Coach Hank Moore. "All of our team stepped up and played well this weekend. 3-0 on the weekend with a top 23 win. We have a lot to do to get ready for OCU, but playing at home next weekend is welcomed after back-to-back hard road trips."

The Lady Lions return home next week, where they will host Oklahoma City University on Friday, October 4, at 7:00 PM in the Sheaffer Center. With their 8-0 conference record, the Lady Lions will look to defend their home court and extend their winning streak.
