Point Lookout, MO – The Nelson University Lions roared into Point Lookout on Saturday afternoon and left the College of the Ozarks Bobcats reeling after a 94-66 victory at the Keeter Athletic Complex. The commanding win propelled the Lions to a 12-5 overall record and solidified their standing in the Sooner Athletic Conference (11-3 SAC).
From the opening tip, the Lions asserted themselves offensively. CJ Hall set the tone early and never let up, delivering a stellar performance with a game-high 26 points, shooting 61% from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. By halftime, Nelson had built a 43-36 lead, powered by six first-half three-pointers and balanced contributions across the roster.
In the second half, the Lions turned up the heat, outscoring the Bobcats 51-30. The bench shined brightly, pouring in 48 points to bolster Nelson's dominance. Micah Clark was a force on the boards, collecting eight rebounds to go along with his 12 points. Meanwhile, Noah Jonker added an efficient 10 points, including two clutch three-pointers.
Defensively, the Lions stifled the Bobcats, limiting them to just 41% shooting from the field and forcing 15 turnovers. Nelson capitalized on these mistakes, scoring 18 points off turnovers while controlling the glass with 38 rebounds.
The Lions' sharp shooting was another key to their success, as they finished the game with an impressive 57.6% field goal percentage and 47.8% from three-point range. Every player contributed to the offensive fireworks, showcasing the depth and versatility of the squad.
