Lions Hold Off Texas Wesleyan in Thrilling SAC Battle

Waxahachie, TX – The Sheaffer Center was the epicenter of excitement Saturday night as the RV Nelson University Lions edged out Texas Wesleyan in a closely contested Sooner Athletic Conference showdown. The Lions emerged victorious, 76-71, in front of an enthusiastic crowd,.

The Lions (14-6, 12-4 SAC) jumped out strong, shooting 50% from the field in the first half to build a 41-36 halftime lead. Despite Texas Wesleyan's relentless effort to claw back, Nelson never relinquished their advantage. The game featured spectacular plays, tense moments, and standout performances that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

CJ Hall was the driving force behind Nelson's victory, delivering an impressive 25 points, including a perfect 11-for-11 from the free-throw line, while grabbing 7 rebounds. His clutch free throws in the final seconds sealed the win. JJ Boling added critical support with 11 points, including three timely three-pointers that helped the Lions maintain momentum.

The defense stepped up when it mattered most, holding Texas Wesleyan to just 26.7% shooting from beyond the arc and forcing 11 turnovers.
