Fort Worth, TX –  The Nelson University Lions men's soccer team delivered a disciplined and determined performance on Tuesday night, earning a 1–0 road victory over Texas Wesleyan University at Martin Field. Behind a composed defensive effort and a timely first-half strike, Nelson secured their first Sooner Athletic Conference win of the season.

After a tightly contested opening stretch, the Lions broke through in the 43rd minute when Jonathan Ledesma connected for a goal, finishing a setup from Edwin Sam Mbaka. The well-timed strike capped a steady offensive build-up and gave Nelson the 1–0 edge heading into halftime.

Goalkeeper Amir Raime anchored the back line with a standout effort, recording four saves and commanding the box under pressure. Defenders Pascoal Manuel, David Ospina, and Javaughn Hines held strong, frustrating the Rams' attack and clearing several dangerous second-half chances.

Texas Wesleyan ramped up their aggression late, firing seven of their nine total shots after intermission, but the Lions' defense absorbed the pressure and never relented.

Midfielder Joel Palmer and winger Joao Delgado fueled Nelson's tempo offensively, combining for multiple early shots on frame. The Lions finished with 10 total shots (five on goal) while limiting Texas Wesleyan to just four on target.

With the win, the Lions improve to 6–6-3 (1–4-2 SAC), while Texas Wesleyan falls to 8–8 (2–5 SAC).
