From the opening tip, Nelson dictated pace, space, and physicality, turning a competitive first half into a runaway statement win on their home floor.
Nelson wasted little time setting the tone. Behind crisp ball movement and confident perimeter shooting, the Lady Lions jumped out to a 22–11 lead after the first quarter, knocking down six triples in the opening ten minutes. Cailyn Tucker splashed three early threes to ignite the crowd, while Paris Miller provided instant energy off the bench as Nelson built momentum that never slowed.

Any hopes of a comeback were erased in a third-quarter avalanche. Nelson erupted for a 24–5 frame, suffocating SCU defensively while stretching the lead with precision shooting and fast-break execution.
