Lions Light Up Goodwell as No. 18 Nelson Outpaces OPSU 93–86 Behind Sharpshooting Surge

Goodwell, Oklahoma | December 6, 2025 — Two days removed from a nail-biting SAC road win in Plainview, the No. 18 Nelson University Lions traveled north to the panhandle plains and delivered another statement, outlasting Oklahoma Panhandle State 93–86 in a Saturday matinee that showcased depth, pace, and a sizzling shooting performance inside Anchor D Arena.

What began as a tight, possession-by-possession contest didn't stay that way for long. Nelson's halfcourt rhythm arrived early and violently. By the middle of the first half, the Lions uncorked a barrage of threes and transition punches that stunned the Aggies and ignited a purple-and-white avalanche.

Micah Clark was the spark plug, the firestarter, and the closer all in one. The 6'7 guard carved up OPSU's defense with slashing layups, run-out threes, and a trademark soaring dunk to punctuate a dominant stretch. Clark finished with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting including 3-of-4 from deep and scored in every way imaginable. His energy fueled Nelson's first major run and set the tone on both ends.

Nelson's bench soon took the baton and sprinted. Jordan Jenkins was unstoppable, pouring in 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a flurry of threes and mid-range jumpers that blew the game wide open. Every time OPSU clawed back, Jenkins calmly answered with a bucket. Behind him, Noah Jonker and Dallas Smith added timely plays of their own, contributing to a massive 43 bench points, one of the Lions' largest totals of the season.

By late in the second half, Nelson had built a commanding 26-point advantage, their largest of the night. Still, OPSU refused to go quietly. The Aggies trimmed the deficit to single digits inside the final minute. But Nelson's early knockout blows and a final exclamation-point dunk from Clark at the buzzer kept the Lions comfortably in control.

Nelson improves to 8–2 overall and 4–1 in SAC play, sweeping their first conference road trip of the season and proving yet again that their layered roster and balanced scoring attack are difficult for any opponent to contain.
