Goodwell, Oklahoma | December 6, 2025 — Two nights after surviving a nailbiter in Plainview, the Nelson University Lady Lions proved they could win with fireworks. On Saturday afternoon inside Anchor D Arena, Nelson unleashed one of their most complete performances of the season, overwhelming Oklahoma Panhandle State University 76–43 to secure another pivotal Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) road victory.
From the jump, the Lady Lions looked like a team playing with purpose. Multiple players got involved early, the ball hummed around the halfcourt, and Nelson carved up OPSU's rotations with pace, poise, and patience. The exclamation point of the opening frame came courtesy of Paris Miller, who drilled a wing buzzer-beater to punctuate a blistering 27-point first quarter.
By halftime, Nelson had built a 45–15 advantage, powered by a blend of suffocating defense and a well-oiled offensive rhythm that kept OPSU on its heels. Miller was sensational throughout, finishing with 20 points, five threes, and seven rebounds in just 16 minutes.
The second half flowed with the same energy: selfless basketball, intentional spacing, and assist-driven execution. The Lady Lions continued to share the ball freely, racking up 19 assists on 26 made field goals as their depth shined. Bench production was massive, 45 points off the bench and the scoring came from all levels of the rotation.
One of the loudest moments of the fourth quarter belonged to former volleyball standout Lilly Hanna, who checked in and immediately made her mark. On her first two touches she floated in a pair of smooth layups.
Defensively, Nelson was equally sharp forcing 20 OPSU turnovers, holding the Aggies to 27% shooting, and never allowing more than 15 points in a quarter. The Lady Lions dominated the glass 47–41 and controlled tempo from wire to wire.
Kate Miller added 17 points and six rebounds in a steady, composed effort. Cailyn Tucker chipped in seven points and four assists. Lauryn Scalice was a flamethrower off the bench with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Every player contributed to the performance, a true showcase of depth, chemistry, and maturity. With the victory, Nelson improves to 8–1 overall and 4–1 in SAC play, closing their first conference road swing of the season with a pair of wins.
