Waxahachie, TX – In front of an electric home crowd at the Sheaffer Center, the Nelson University Lions made history, securing the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) regular season championship with a thrilling victory over John Brown University on Senior Day.  

With emotions running high and a championship on the line, the Lions delivered a dominant performance, refusing to let the moment slip away. John Brown fought to play spoiler, but Nelson's depth, energy, and relentless attack ensured that the celebration would go as planned.  

Lions Review

• Justin Collins was electric, finishing through contact and converting key and-one opportunities to ignite the Lions' offense.  
• Alerick Hall proved to be the ultimate clutch shooter, draining crucial three-pointers when Nelson needed them most.  
• CJ Hall put on a show, delivering a standout performance that left fans in awe.  
• Jordan Jenkins was an absolute force in the paint, playing like a man possessed and controlling the interior on both ends of the floor.  
• The victory not only capped off an unforgettable Senior Day but also cemented Nelson University's status as the best team in the SAC heading into the postseason.  

Next Up
The Lions wrap up the regular season on Monday night, hosting Ozarks at 6 PM in the Sheaffer Center. With momentum at their backs and a championship already secured, Nelson will look to finish strong before turning its focus to the SAC Tournament.
