Waxahachie, Texas - Nelson University Softball displayed dominance on the mound as they completed the series sweep in Friday afternoons doubleheader at the Lions Athletic Complex with an 8-0 Game 1 victory and a 2-1 Game 2 victory.
Game One
With an outstanding performance on the mound, Valerie Guzman pitched a complete game no-hitter for the Lady Lions en route to a shutout victory in game 1.
At the plate, the Lady Lions took control scoring a total of 8 runs. Sasha Jennings recorded a couple of hits and scored a total of 2 runs with an RBI. Going 2 for 2 with a triple, Avery Coleman also contributed to the fire works for the offense. With a masterclass on both offense and defense, the Lady Lions took Game 1 with a score of 8-0.
Game Two
In Game Two, Natalie Zamora got the win as she pitched 5.2 innings allowing 7 hits and 1 earned run. Trinity Muhle came in during the 6th inning and shut out Central Christian only allowing 1 hit and recording 3 strikeouts.
The offense for the Lady Lions continued to shine, led by Marcella Bryan, who recorded a couple of hits and tallied 2 RBI's. Trista Ford also got in on the action with a double in one of her plate appearances.The Lady Lions sealed Game 2 with a score of 2-1, ultimately completing the sweep against Central Christian.

The Lady Lions (19-24) hit the road Friday, April 25, for a SAC doubleheader at Wayland Baptist. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM in Planview, Texas.
