Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lady Lions wasted no time asserting control on Saturday afternoon, sweeping College of the Ozarks 3–0 (25–17, 25–11, 25–17) in a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) clash at the Sheaffer Center.
Nelson was sharp out of the gate, pounding down 18 kills at a .400 clip in the opening set. The Lady Lions carried that momentum into the second frame, overwhelming the Bobcats with aggressive serving and crisp ball control on their way to a lopsided 25–11 win.
The offense clicked on all cylinders, with four players finishing in double-digit points. Alexandra Bonnett stood out with a double-double performance: 10 kills and 12 digs while also adding three aces. Caroline Boone was efficient in the middle with nine kills at a .471 hitting mark, and Addison Standley impressed with nine kills on a .375 clip. Olivia Todd chipped in six kills at an incredible .545 efficiency, rounding out the well-spread attack.
Nelson finished with 49 kills against just 8 errors, hitting a blistering .394 as a team. Setters Cassidy Hargesheimer (21 assists) and Taylor Cavazos (18 assists) kept the offense humming, while the Lions' back row racked up 56 digs to keep the Bobcats off balance.
On the other side, the Lady Lions' defense stifled College of the Ozarks, holding them to a .057 hitting percentage. Timely blocks and disciplined floor coverage never allowed the visitors to mount a serious rally.
