Lions Erupt for 95 in Senior Night Showcase, Roll Past MACU 95–77

Waxahachie, TX | February 12, 2026 – Senior Night at the Sheaffer Center turned into a scoring clinic.

With a special pregame moment honoring the Lion seniors, Nelson wasted no time turning emotion into execution. From the opening tip to the final horn, the Lions controlled the tempo and never trailed, defeating Mid-America Christian University 95–77 in front of 237 fans Thursday night. Nelson improves to 21-4 overall and 16-3 in SAC play

The Lions came out sharp, efficient, and aggressive.

Nelson shot a blistering 58.1% from the field and 50% from three in the first half, building a 52–40 halftime lead. The ball movement was crisp, the pace was fast, and the Sheaffer Center crowd felt every run.

Micah Clark was sensational early, scoring 17 first-half points while knocking down four triples. His rhythm shooting set the tone, and the Lions fed off it.

JJ Boling added a pair of first-half threes, and Trelin Green orchestrated the offense with confidence and control.

When the Evangels tried to chip away in the second half, Nelson answered with maturity.

Clark finished with a game-high 31 points, shooting 10-of-17 from the field and 5-of-8 from deep while adding six rebounds.  He attacked in transition, finished through contact, and calmly knocked down free throws late to keep MACU at arm's length.

It was the kind of performance Senior Night was built for.

The Lions didn't rely on one voice, they roared together.

Nelson scored 44 bench points, showcasing depth and unselfishness. JJ Boling poured in 18 points, drilling six three-pointers. Brionne Williams added 10 points and was active defensively, while Noah Jonker chipped in eight efficient points inside.

Trelin Green stuffed the stat sheet with nine assists and five steals, igniting transition opportunities that led to 17 fast break points.

Nelson also controlled the glass, outrebounding MACU 44–28, and finished the night shooting nearly 47% from the field.

The Lions' largest lead swelled to 27 in the second half, a testament to sustained focus

Senior Night was about honoring the journey but it was also about protecting home court. The Lions did both.
