Women's Soccer Drop Spring Opener

Zoe Boldt
Shreveport, LA – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Women's soccer team was excited to get back on the field to face Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS). The Lady Lions were looking for another great match against LSUS as last season they came back from being down 2-0 at half to win 3-2. Within the first few minutes of the game LSUS had a penalty kick called in their favor resulting in a big momentum change. The Lady Lions struggled with injuries after the call as they had two players injured and carried off the field leaving them with no field players to substitute. The opportunities were still there for the Lady Lions, freshmen's Alexis Roman and Chloe Porter had two breakaway opportunities that resulted in one hitting the post and one hitting side netting that would have tied the game. The second half was a battle with the Lady Lions displaying their resilience untill the last second, LSUS won 4-0.
