Waxahachie, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men's basketball team played on the road against Wayland Baptist University (WBU) who gave them their only lost of the season. In this revenge game, the Lions came out and took a quick 13-3 lead. The game evened out as WBU took advantage of the Lions foul trouble; WBU would take a 29-25 lead into the half. The second half was all Lions, they were able to show their strength on the defensive end and get some tough points in the paint down the stretch. The Lions outscored WBU 37-25 in the second half and would go on to win the game 62-54. Throughout the game the Lions struggle to find a rhythm, but in a tough road win they showed that their able to get wins by any mean necessary. They will be back on the court Saturday to take on Oklahoma Panhandle State.
