Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Men's basketball hosted Mid-America Christian (MACU) for the first time this season. In this semi-final match up the Lions were able to lock in early and take advantage of MACU mistakes; going into halftime the Lions led by 10 points with the score 53-43. The second half was competitive and fun to watch as both teams were eager to get to the championship game. Down the stretch MACU went on a run to take the lead late; the Lions were able to keep it close and even had chances to take the lead late but weren't able to capitalize, falling short at the end 94-91. With the lost, the Lions will look to get an at large-bid for the NAIA Tournament.
