The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team was back in Siloam Spring, Arkansas to play against John Brown University (JBU) in the Quarterfinal Game of the
Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Tournament. In the first set both teams picked up where they left off in their last match up, but JBU was able to pull out the first set 25-22. It was all Lady Lions from that point on, as they won the next three sets (25-21, 25-19, 25-22).
Riley Burcham 49 assists and
Faith Marroquin 27 digs, highlights the Lady Lions dominant night. The Lady Lions will now advance to the Semifinal Game Friday, April 9
th in Oklahoma City against the #1 seed Oklahoma City University.
Notable Performers
- Riley Burcham (SO/ Georgetown, TX) led the Lady Lions with 49 assists and 4 digs
- Faith Marroquin (JR/ Omaha, NE) was the backbone for the Lady Lions as she added 27 digs
- Alexis Mealer (JR/ Arlington, TX) had a solid night with 17 kills
- Ava Meyers (SO/ Round Top, TX)10 kills and 19 digs adds another double-double for her
- Abby Wells (FR/ Keller, TX) had 16 kills on (.429) hitting percentage
- The Lions finished with 59 kills and 53 assists
