Box Score 2 Waxahachie, TX – SAGU Softball dropped two games to Science and Arts on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Lions now sit at 18-13 overall and 8-8 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Game One
SAGU got things started in the second inning. An error scored one run for the Lady Lions, but they would end up falling 5-1.
Emily Cerny led things off on the rubber for USAO. The pitcher went six and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out nine.
Ashlyn Teran was on the rubber for SAGU. Teran surrendered four runs on seven hits over five and a third innings, striking out two.
Kassandra Vargas threw one and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Makyla Kelly led the Lady Lions with three hits in four at bats.
Game Two
Both teams were strong on the rubber on Saturday, but the Drovers took the edge as they defeated SAGU 2-1.
Autumn Graham started the game for SAGU and recorded 21 outs.
Sophie Williams was in the circle for Science and Arts. Williams went seven innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out three and walking one.
Graham toed the rubber for the Lady Lions. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking one.
SAGU collected six hits game two of the day.
Makyla Kelly and
Airiana Magdaleno each manager multiple hits for the Lady Lions.
SAGU will now face the University of Dallas on Tuesday, March 29, in an away doubleheader starting at 5:00 PM.
