Lion Review
-
The SAGU men's soccer team entered the game, hoping to build upon the 2021 season under the direction of head coach Clementin Oancea.
-
A poor moment from SAGU's defense in the game's first half allowed Paul Quinn's offense to move the ball in the open field and score.
-
Paul Quinn was able to get the ball through SAGU's defense in the second half of the game to score their second and final goal..
Oancea's Opinion
"Not the result we were looking for, but as being the first game of the year, it will take a little time to get adjusted to the rhythm and speeds of play at the college level. We have a young group of freshmen that are trying to find their feet and recognizing that the game is a lot faster than they have been used to playing at," SAGU head men's soccer coach Clementin Oancea said on his team's season opener.
"The game is built on moments, and we weren't very sharp on recognizing that by giving up a goal in each half. We will watch the game and learn from it. No time to dwell on it, and we'll focus on the Saturday game," Oancea said.
The Next Step
The Lions (0-1-0, 0-0-0) will get a chance to host when they take on Bethel College in a 5:30 pm match at Life HS Waxahachie.
