Waxahachie, TX - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions football team boasts a true game-changer in their midst, and his name is Dylan Alford. The electrifying special teams player has just achieved a remarkable feat - he's been named the NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week.

In a recent face-off against Panhandle State, Alford showed why he's earned this prestigious honor. Despite the Lions' loss, Alford's performance was nothing short of spectacular. He managed not one but two breathtaking kick returns for touchdowns, covering an impressive 96 yards and another astounding 80-yard dash to the end zone. In total, he accumulated a jaw-dropping 176 return yards on just three attempts.

SAGU Athletic Director Dr. Jesse Godding expressed his excitement, saying, "Dylan Alford joins a select group of SAGU football players to have the distinction of being named NAIA Player of the Week."

Ever humble, Alford extends his gratitude to his teammates, his Head Coach, Greg Ellis, and Special Teams Coach, Kevin Pointer. "This one is truly special, and I will always cherish it," says Alford. With his dedication and the support of his fellow Lions, Alford's impact on the game is undeniable. 

"I really want to thank God because He has been better to me than I could have ever imagined and He's been favoring me throughout this whole journey. Special forces on me, special forces on 3!," Dylan Alford went on to say.

Now, the SAGU Lions, led by their extraordinary special teams star, Dylan Alford, eagerly await their upcoming Homecoming game on November 11th at 2:00 PM. They'll face Texas College at Lumpkins Stadium in Waxahachie, TX, with hopes of igniting the home crowd with their fiery performance.
