Chickasha, OK – On Friday evening at Bill Smith Ballpark in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions softball team faced the University of Science and Arts (USAO) Drovers in a doubleheader to open their Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) series.

Game 1:
The Lady Lions were defeated in game one of the doubleheader against the Drovers by a shutout pitching effort.
Trista Ford and Arcelie Mares shared the pitching duties for SAGU, each throwing two innings.
Pitches-Strikes: Trista Ford (35-24), Arcelie Mares (37-22)
USAO was successful in scoring eight runs off of their eight hits.

The Lady Lions adapted to their travel circumstances in the day's second game. SAGU got four hits overall and three runs throughout the game.Â
Even with a more robust offensive performance, the Lady Lions were defeated 11-3 by the Drovers and lost on the opening day of the series.
Sasha Jennings, McKenzie Schulze, Trista Ford, and Candence Hopgood successfully made contact for hits.
Abigail Muniz was the SAGU RBI leader, bringing home two Lady Lions, and Brooke Kinnibrugh had one RBI.
