Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lions Football team is celebrating a historic accomplishment with three standout players earning spots on the 2024 All-NCCAA Teams, showcasing the program's excellence on the national stage. Â
Joseph Chavez – First Team All-NCCAA
The dominant senior nose guard anchored the Lions' defense, racking up a conference-leading 83 tackles. Chavez's ability to disrupt offensive lines and make game-changing plays earned him top recognition. Â
Dakeevion Rose – Second Team All-NCCAA
The electrifying and powerful running back was a force on the field, combining speed and brute force to lead the Lions' offense. Rose's highlight-reel runs made him a nightmare for opposing defenses. Â
Xavier Garcia – Second Team All-NCCAA
A versatile defender and tackling machine, Garcia anchored the Lions' defense with his keen instincts and leadership. He only trailed his teammate Joseph Chavez in total tackles in the conference, finishing the season with 81 tackles (38 solo, 43 assisted), averaging 8.1 tackles per game, and adding 1 sack to his impressive stat line.
The Lions' future looks bright, and this year's All-NCCAA
honorees have set the bar high for those who follow in their footsteps.
