Oklahoma City – The Nelson University Lions wrapped up their 2025 baseball season with a valiant effort in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, falling just short in a pair of tight battles against Mid-America Christian University (6–3, 6–5). Despite the first round exit, two standout Lions earned postseason recognition from the conference.
Ortiz's explosive bat and steady presence in the lineup made him a consistent threat all season, while Lyons anchored the Lions with standout performances as a catcher.
