From Buckets to Bright Smiles: Sydney Dillenberg, a 1,000-Point Scorer Still Making a Difference

July 23, 2025

Student-Athlete Alumni Spotlight in Collaboration with the 2027 Project

Nelson University proudly spotlights Sydney Dillenberg, a standout women's basketball alumna who continues to represent the Lion legacy both in her professional field and through her lasting impact on the court.

A 2021 graduate with a bachelor's degree in business and a minor in health, Sydney was a key figure in the success of Nelson's women's basketball program. A dynamic guard with a scorer's touch, she earned Sooner Athletic Conference Honorable Mention honors and cemented her name in program history as the 8th all-time leading scorer, finishing her career with 1,103 points.

Sydney's dedication on the court mirrored her discipline in the classroom and passion for health and service. After graduation, she followed her calling into the healthcare field and now thrives as a registered dental hygienist, a career she began in 2023. Her commitment to excellence continues to shine through her care for others.

This feature is part of our ongoing celebration of the 2027 Project, a bold initiative to honor Nelson University's centennial by reconnecting with alumni and building toward a stronger future. Sydney Dillenberg's story is a reminder that the lessons learned through athletics and determination can carry forward long after the final buzzer. #WhereLionsFindTheirRoar
