Nelson University Establishes Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma

Waxahachie, TX - Nelson University has been accepted into the National College Athlete Honor Society as the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma (XAΣ), which recognizes four-year institutions who are members of an association or organization that promotes academic achievement and varsity level athletics competition while holding commitment to the principles of integrity, sportsmanship, and overall development of their student-athletes.
 
Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach, Nick Mourouzis, and continues to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
 
To be inducted, student-athletes must be an undergraduate college student-athlete who has participated in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieved junior academic standing or higher after their fourth full time semester, and earned a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.
 
Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director/Senior Woman Leader, Emma Tompkins, will serve as advisor for Nelson University's chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.
