Waxahachie, TX – The Nelson University Lady Lions soccer team returned to the Lions Athletic Complex on Monday afternoon with a powerful mix of history and heart. The afternoon was marked by the return of Nelson soccer alum and goal-scoring legend Anna Bewley, whose presence energized the crowd and current roster alike.

From the opening whistle, Nelson played with urgency and flair. The breakthrough came in the 19th minute when Stephanie Hernandez buried the first goal of the match, set up by a slick assist from Samantha Delgado. Just minutes later, the spotlight shifted to Damaris Solis, who produced one of the most electrifying solo efforts ever witnessed on the Lions' home pitch. Blazing down the sideline, Solis carved through defenders and slotted home in the 28th minute. She wasn't finished, striking again in the 39th to cap a breathtaking first half, sending Nelson into the break with a commanding 3–0 lead.

The second half tested the Lions' resolve. LSUA fought back with goals from Sara Escribano (71') and Linnea Lundstroem (89'), tightening the scoreline late. But anchored by the steady hands of goalkeeper Delaney Murphy, who racked up eight saves on 10 shots on goal, Nelson held firm until the final whistle.

With the victory, the Lady Lions claimed a thrilling 3–2 win in front of their home fans.
